Reflexology for infants and children

Touch is a unique yet extremely powerful form of silent communication.  When gentle pressure is administered to the feet or hands in a relaxed environment and non offensive way, in the form of reflexology, it can provide re-assurance, companionship and a feeling of self-worth, in addition to aiding the body's natural self-healing process. Is reflexology for me?

If we cast our minds back to the dawn of creation and the subsequent Centuries in which primitive man began to make his mark, it would be hard to escape from the comparisons made between animal and man and the scientific studies that focus on our evolution from the primate world.  In similarity to apes, our feet and their remarkable ability to be able to support the body's weight and entire anatomical frame, became our primary components in the ability to survive.  In the modern world and with the invention of shoes, precision foot care is key to their longevity, as any impairment, structural deformation or temporary adjustment to the correct functioning of our feet can easily result in postural displacement, lower back pain and in severe cases the inability to walk properly, or at all.
